GiveGetGo

Posted on December 11 2013

As many of you know dpms. raised money for an organization called GiveGetGo this summer through the sales of our bracelets. Ten percent of bracelet sales between June and September were originally meant to buy sports equipment for children at Melody School in Chimaltenango, Guatemala and Majengo Orphanage in Mto wa Mbu, Tanzania.  Due to a shortage in funding for Project Chaqlaxel it was requested that we use the money for something more urgent. With the help of all of our amazing customers dpms. was able to raise $1000, which will be used to continue building a Melody School classroom over the holidays. This donation will help ensure that 25 children will be able to start school in a classroom, opposed to a kitchen, this coming January.

Melody School’s vision is to provide education for each child from primary school throughout the completion of their secondary education. In an area where less than 55% of the inhabitants are illiterate, they have been able to teach each child to read and write by the age of 6. We felt that enabling workers to continue building was an even better cause than the one we started with and we were more than happy to change our plan to ensure the best teaching environment possible for these kids!

On behalf of GiveGetGo, Melody School and dpms. we would like to thank each and everyone of you who bought a bracelet this summer because YOU made this possible. Without your support these children would not have a classroom to learn in and we think that is a priceless gift.
